On Tuesday 20 June 2017, the Institute of Plumbing Inspectors’ Queensland in conjunction with the Queensland Building and Construction Commission (QBCC) hosted the bi-annual Plumbing Inspectors’ Seminar.
The seminar provides a valuable opportunity for plumbing inspectors from across Queensland to get updates on important industry matters, such as legislative changes, Legionella management, compliance of on-site sewerage facilities and QBCC’s compliance activities.
There were more than 60 attendees from local governments across the State, and speakers included QBCC Assistant Commissioner Esther Blest, other QBCC representatives, and representatives from the Department of Housing and Public Works, Queensland Health and local governments.
The attendees gave great feedback about the seminar, stating that it’s an excellent opportunity to discuss important issues with inspectors from other jurisdictions, and that the topics were relevant and interesting.
The next Plumbing Inspectors’ Seminar is planned to take place in November 2017.
