Note: If you are supervising or performing maintenance or installation of on-site sewerage facilities, you must hold an appropriate restricted drainer – on-site sewerage facility licence under the Plumbing and Drainage Act 2002. Scope of work

  • 1. Maintenance:
  • building work that is within the scope of work mentioned in the Plumbing and Drainage Regulation 2003, schedule 2, item 8, column 4, paragraph (a) for a Drainer – on-site sewerage facility licence.
  • 2. Maintenance and installation:
  • building work that is within the scope of work mentioned in the Plumbing and Drainage Regulation 2003, schedule 2, item 8, column 4, paragraph (b) for a Drainer – on-site sewerage facility licence.

Qualifications required

  • Maintenance:

  • Successful completion of  the following units of competency:

    • WEP01B — Maintain domestic treatment plants and on-site sewerage facilities
    • CPCPDR4013B — Design and size domestic treatment plant disposal systems
  • Successful completion of a course the commission considers equivalent to the units of competency mentioned above.
  • Maintenance and installation:
  • Successful completion of  the following units of competency:

    • WEP01B — Maintain domestic treatment plants and on-site sewerage facilities
    • CPCPDR4013B — Design and size domestic treatment plant disposal systems
    • CPCPCM2043A — Carry out WHS requirements
    • CPCPDR2022A — Install domestic treatment plants
    • CPCPDR3023A — Install on-site disposal systems
    • BSBSMB401 — Establish legal and risk management requirements of small business
  • Successful completion of a course the commission considers equivalent to the units of competency mentioned above.

Managerial course

Completion of the approved managerial course.

Note: Completion of the course Establish legal and risk management requirements of small business BSBSMB401, which is one of the required courses in the Certificate IV Plumbing and Services, will meet this requirement.
