Scope of work

Hydraulic Services Design

Prepare plans, specifications and documents associated with the following building services:

  • sanitary drainage, soil waste and venting
  • trade waste drainage, plumbing and venting
  • cold and hot water
  • rainwater and stormwater drainage
  • gas services
  • fire hydrant and hose reel services, with or without pumps
  • commercial, residential and domestic fire sprinklers, deluge and wall wetting sprinklers (drenchers)
  • on-site domestic waste water management.

Hydraulic Service Design excluding design of on-site domestic waste water management

Prepare plans, specifications and documents associated with the following building services:

  • sanitary drainage, soil waste and venting
  • trade waste drainage, plumbing and venting
  • cold and hot water
  • rainwater and stormwater drainage
  • gas services
  • fire hydrant and hose reel services, with or without pumps
  • commercial, residential and domestic fire sprinklers, deluge and wall wetting sprinklers (drenchers).

Qualifications required

Hydraulic Services Design

Successful completion of the following:

  • Diploma of Hydraulic Services Design CPC50612 or a course the commission considers is at least equivalent to the diploma, and
  • the competency Design onsite sewerage facilities WEP02A, or a competency the commission considers at least equivalent.

Hydraulic Services Design excluding design of on-site domestic waste water management

Successful completion of the following:

  • Diploma of Hydraulic Services Design CPC50612 or a course the commission considers is at least equivalent to the diploma.

Experience required

Two years which includes experience gained during an apprenticeship or other training, in:

  • the licence class scope of work, or
  • other work the commission is satisfied is at least equivalent to experience in the scope of work for the class.

The relevant financial requirements in the board’s policies.

Professional Indemnity Insurance

Professional Indemnity Insurance is required for this licence class.

Registered Training Organisations (RTOs)

Registered Training Organisations issue formal qualifications to people who successfully complete training. Please note that the RTO list is a guide only and subject to change. We strive to ensure that the information contained is accurate and up-to-date. Other qualifications can be:
  • apprenticeship papers
  • documentation showing you successfully completed the appropriate course for this licence class
  • documentation showing you successfully completed an equivalent course for this licence class (e.g. similar modules)
  • recognition certificate
  • a qualification of statement of attainment of the required competency issued by an approved authority for the licence class.

Recognition of prior learning

If you do not hold a formal technical qualification, you may be able to obtain it through recognition of prior learning (RPL) by a Registered Training Organisation (RTO). The following RTO may be able to provide an RPL service for this licence class.
