This is a warning by the Commissioner of the QBCC to the public under section 20J(1)(h) of the Queensland Building and Construction Commission Act 1991
The Queensland Building and Construction Commission (QBCC) is urging consumers, contractors and suppliers to exercise extreme caution in their dealings with Mr Zac Mar, MR Lifestyle Constructions Pty Ltd and TS Home Services Pty Ltd.
MR Lifestyle Constructions Pty Ltd should not be confused with Lifestyle Construction Queensland Pty Ltd, which is a QBCC-licensed entity (Licence# 1286378) and is not related to MR Lifestyle Constructions Pty Ltd.
A public warning was previously issued against Mr Mar, MR Lifestyle Constructions Pty Ltd, and TS Home Services Pty Ltd on 13 April, 2016.
Mr Mar, MR Lifestyle Constructions Pty Ltd and TS Home Services Pty Ltd do not hold a QBCC licence and are not able to carry out, or enter into contracts to carry out building work in Queensland valued at more than $3,300.
It is alleged that Mr Mar, MR Lifestyle Constructions Pty Ltd and TS Home Services Pty Ltd have more recently been carrying out unlawful building work in bayside suburbs from Wynnum through to Redland Bay.
The QBCC is investigating Mr Mar, MR Lifestyle Constructions Pty Ltd and TS Home Services Pty Ltd for a range of offences including unlicensed contracting, non-compliant contracts, defective building work, receiving excess deposits and monies-owed complaints.
The QBCC is also investigating complaints that MR Lifestyle Constructions Pty Ltd is making use of another person’s QBCC licence number (1114052).
The QBCC warns all persons who deal with Mr Mar, MR Lifestyle Constructions Pty Ltd and TS Home Services Pty Ltd to exercise extreme caution and seek legal advice before entering into contracts or making any payments, in order to protect their interests.
The QBCC urges home owners to conduct research before engaging contractors, and recommends engaging a licensed contractor even for small jobs.
