This is a warning by the Commissioner of the QBCC to the public under section 20J(1)(h) of the Queensland Building and Construction Commission Act 1991
The Queensland Building and Construction Commission (QBCC) is urging consumers, contractors and suppliers to exercise extreme caution in their dealings with Mr Gregory Chalmers and D & C Project Management Pty Ltd.
D & C Project Management Pty Ltd should not be confused with D. & C. Project Management Pty Ltd, which was a QBCC-licensed entity, and is not related to D & C Project Management Pty Ltd (which is spelt without the full stops after D & C).
Mr Gregory Chalmers and D & C Project Management Pty Ltd do not hold a QBCC licence and are not able to carry out, or enter into contracts to carry out, building work in Queensland valued at more than $3,300.
Mr Gregory Chalmers is a permanently excluded individual, which means that he is prohibited from holding a QBCC-contractor or nominee licence and from being a director, secretary or influential person of a QBCC-licensed company.
It is alleged that Mr Gregory Chalmers and D & C Project Management Pty Ltd have been carrying out unlawful building work and related services in Brisbane suburbs, including Annerley.
The QBCC is investigating complaints regarding Mr Chalmers and D & C Project Management Pty Ltd carrying out unlawful building work.
The QBCC warns all persons who deal with Mr Chalmers and D & C Project Management Pty Ltd to exercise extreme caution and seek legal advice before entering into contracts or making any payments, in order to protect their interests.
The QBCC urges home owners to conduct research before engaging contractors, and recommends engaging a licensed contractor regardless of the size of the job.
