World Plumbing Day falls on 11 March each year, and is a day to celebrate the important role that plumbers and drainers play in protecting health and safety across the world.
This year, STC members and representatives of the Queensland Building and Construction Commission (QBCC) joined with about 350 members and supporters of the plumbing industry for a breakfast on 10 March 2017 at Hillstone St Lucia, hosted by the Master Plumbers’ Association of Queensland (MPAQ).
STC Chairperson and Master Plumbers’ Association of Queensland Executive Director, Penny Cornah, was one of the presenters.
There was also a presentation by Orange Sky Laundry, a not-for-profit organisation offering a mobile laundry service for homeless people across Australia. The audience was able to hear about how something as basic as access to washing facilities and clean clothes can have a major impact on the quality of people’s lives.
