Moderation guidelines for the QBCC's social media pages | Queensland Building and Construction Commission

The opinions and/or views expressed on the Queensland Building and Construction Commission (QBCC) social media platforms, including, but not limited to, Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Twitter and YouTube pages, represent the thoughts of individual participants and online communities.

While the QBCC makes reasonable efforts to monitor and/or moderate content posted on its social media platforms, we cannot always respond in a timely manner to online requests for information. The QBCC will only respond to comments during standard business hours. The department’s social media sites are only monitored during standard business hours.

When contributing to this community do not post any material that contains:

  • personal information about you or another individual (including identifying information, email addresses, phone numbers or private addresses)
  • false representation of another individual, organisation, government or entity
  • promotion of a product, business, company or organisation
  • hate speech, bullying or harassment
  • profanity, obscenity or vulgarity
  • comments/ messages that could be considered prejudicial, racist or inflammatory
  • nudity or offensive imagery in profile pictures
  • defamation to a person, people or business
  • name calling and/or personal attacks of an individual or business
  • name calling and/or personal attacks against other social media users including QBCC’s employees
  • comments/ messages whose main purpose are to sell a product
  • comments that infringe on copyrights
  • spam comments/ messages from individuals or groups, such as the same
  • comment posted repeatedly on a profile
  • false representation of another individual, organisation, government or entity
  • promotion of a product, business, company or organisation
  • excessive tagging of the QBCC as this impedes the ability for other to utilise the page to communicate with us.

The QBCC retains the right to remove any content that does not comply with the Social Media Code of Conduct or that the QBCC social media team deems unsuitable or inappropriate. Any comments that contradict these guidelines will be removed, and people with repeated violations may be blocked from all our social media channels.

Links to other websites which are linked from the QBCC’s social media sites are provided as a guide only and such linkage does not constitute endorsement of those sites by the QBCC and as such, we are not responsible for the content of external websites.

By submitting content to any of QBCC’s social media sites, you understand and acknowledge that this information is available to the public and as such, is considered a public record.

During elections, when the Queensland Government is in care-taker mode, the Queensland Building and Construction Commission cannot host or respond to political
content.
