Pool rules—stay safe this summer

Summer is here and it’s time for a swim. It’s also time for a reminder not to be complacent about pool safety.

Taking a dip in a swimming pool should be fun. However pools, even spas and inflatable pools holding 30cm of water, can still pose a serious risk of drowning.

Supervising young children, teaching them to swim, having effective pool fencing and self-latching gates can save lives. This is why pool safety laws were introduced.

Pool rules apply to all pools in Queensland. So before you freshen up in a pool, see if your pool complies with the safety standards.
