Communication Campaigns and Festive Season Office Closure

In December, we launched a property maintenance awareness campaign aimed at educating home owners about their responsibilities when it comes to property maintenance.

In some instances there are specific lawful requirements for property owners to maintain their property. For example, the Plumbing and Drainage Act 2002 requires the owner of premises to take all reasonable steps to ensure all plumbing and drainage on the premises is kept in good condition and operates properly.

With storm season already here and holiday celebrations about to be in full swing, summer is a good time for home owners to make sure they have done their due diligence. Owners are being encouraged to maintain all building, plumbing and drainage systems associated with their properties via social media and blog posts offering helpful hints on what to do. Earlier in the year, we commenced rolling out a communications plan to promote notifiable work and increase online lodgements of Form 4/4As. Visit the new notifiable work resources page.

In 2018, we also plan to increase understanding of fire protection work amongst licensees as well as property owners and to promote the work of the Service Trades Council, through targeted communication strategies.
