Complaint against a licensed plumber or drainer
Licensed plumbers and drainers need to comply with the Plumbing and Drainage Act 2018 when performing their work. If you have evidence that a licensee may be breaking the law, you can lodge a complaint with us.
What counts as an offence
Some examples of the offences that can be reported are:
- A licensee performing work that is defective or non-compliant
- A licensee directing or supervising an unlicensed person carrying out plumbing or drainage work
- Carrying out permit work without a permit
- Failing to register a Form 4/4A with the QBCC within 10 business days of finishing notifiable work.
Offences under the Plumbing and Drainage Act 2018 only apply to an individual performing work. To make a complaint about a company see complaint against a contractor.
If your complaint is about defective work, you may also be eligible to lodge a defective work dispute. For more information see defective work disputes.
