Defective work dispute
If you have concerns over the quality of the building work you can assess it against our standards and tolerances guide, and lodge a complaint with us if you believe it is defective.
Update
If defective work is identified, any licensee responsible may receive a Direction to Rectify (DTR). This does not change the law or the QBCC’s discretion. Principal contractors remain responsible for the proper supervision of all building work under their contract. See Clearer accountability for defective work—refined DTR process for more information.
Important—your behaviour matters!
We will not tolerate:
- hurtful or abusive language
- threats to our staff or anyone else
- aggressive behaviour that puts others at risk
If your behaviour is unacceptable, we may need to implement strategies to manage how you engage with us.
