Our biannual Regulatory Reports are a key deliverable under the Strategy, reflecting our shift toward intelligence-led, risk-based regulation that targets non-compliance and emerging risks more effectively.

Key highlights from FY2024–25

Across the full financial year, the QBCC has responded to increasing industry pressures—such as financial stress and rising disputes—by strengthening our regulatory posture. 

Notable shifts include:

  • a move away from broad inspection campaigns toward targeted, intelligence-led enforcement
  • increased use of risk-based audits and prosecutions
  • expanded use of alternative dispute resolution to support industry resilience.

These reports offer valuable insights into how the QBCC is adapting to a dynamic regulatory environment while staying true to our mission of protecting consumers and supporting a fair, safe, and sustainable building industry.
