Have you heard the QBCC’s licences are going digital?
The QBCC, in partnership with the Queensland Government, is rolling out digital licences via the Queensland Digital Licence app. This initiative is making using and renewing a QBCC digital licence simpler, faster and more secure.
Why go digital with your QBCC licence
As a licensee, even if you’re rarely asked to show your licence, having it at your fingertips proves you’re ready, professional and qualified to do the job.
No more digging through the glovebox or waiting for a replacement card – your digital licence is always with you on your phone; updated in almost real time, secure and ready to show when needed.
Going digital is optional, but once you experience the convenience, it might become your go-to.
The benefits of going digital:
- Convenience – your QBCC licence(s) stored safely on your phone, always with you.
- Peace of mind through security – built-in security features mean your digital QBCC licence is official and protected.
- Saves time – renewals and changes updated in real time, once processed, no more waiting for the post.
- Know your status. Whether it’s active, up for renewal or expired, you’ll know right away.
- Store multiple licences in one place. If you hold more than one QBCC licence, they’re all stored together.
Planned release dates
The QBCC digital licences are being rolled out in stages, and release dates have been carefully planned to ensure a seamless experience for all users. The QBCC will get in touch with you closer to the release date of your licence class and let you know when you can start using it.

That’s right, your QBCC licence will be available on your mobile device through the Queensland Digital Licence app. No more digging through the glovebox or waiting for a replacement card.
A QBCC digital licence is the same as your physical QBCC licence, just on your phone. If you’re already using a digital driver’s licence, your photo carries over automatically.
