Licence fees freeze

Usually the licence fees and charges increase on 1 July each year due to indexation. From 1 July 2024, licence fees will be frozen at their current level for one year to ease cost-of-living pressure for Queenslanders.

The freeze will mean the licence fees will not increase on 1 July 2024 as they normally would.

Individual contractor fees

Below are the fees for builders and trade contractors.

When applying for a contractor-type licence the fees you pay are determined by your annual turnover (maximum revenue—MR).

If you hold a current individual QBCC licence and are applying for another licence class you will pay a reduced fee.

However, if this is your first contractor-type licence or you are increasing your maximum revenue, there will be an adjustment to your licence fee. QBCC will contact you with details of the adjusted fee.

You have the option of receiving a printed certificate stating which QBCC licence you hold. The certificates costs an additional $32.91 and can be selected on the application form.
