Following the natural disaster events from earlier this year, the QBCC has been working closely with affected communities to assess damage, ensure building safety, and support compliant rebuilding efforts.
The inspection team includes senior representatives from the QBCC’s Regional Services, Compliance, and Plumbing teams.
Their coordinated, expert-led approach ensures that inspections are thorough, data-driven, and tailored to meet the unique needs of each community.
Beyond inspections, staff from the QBCC have actively engaged with local recovery hubs, builders, owner-builders, and plumbing inspectors, to provide technical guidance and regulatory support assisting residents and tradespeople on best practices when it comes to navigating the rebuilding process.
A QBCC spokesperson emphasised the inspections were part of its commitment to ensuring the reconstruction and rebuilding efforts are done to standard and support regional resilience after natural disasters.
Our presence in these communities is more than inspections—it’s about listening, advising, and helping people rebuild safely and confidently.
The use of licensed contractors helps our industry and communities, and safeguards the home owner through our Queensland’s Home Warranty Scheme.
To further support home owners, the QBCC recently launched the Home Owner Hub—a comprehensive online resource designed to guide Queenslanders through every stage of the building and construction journey.
From finding a licensed contractor to understanding contracts, deposits, and approvals, the Hub offers clear, step-by-step information that home owners can trust.
