If you pursue the inspector in the QCAT or courts, we may be able to inspect your property and provide a report to help you with your case.

Put it in writing

You must write or email the inspector with your concerns giving them a reasonable timeframe (e.g. 14 days) to respond. Keep a copy of your correspondence.

If you are not happy with the response, make a complaint with us.

It is important that you lodge your complaint as soon as possible after receiving the report. Time delays may affect our ability to make an accurate determination on the content.

How to make a complaint

  1. You will need to submit copies of the following documents to us:

    • your letter to the inspector
    •  the pre-purchase building inspection/termite inspection report.
  2. Login or register for myQBCC to complete a Residential and commercial building work complaint form.

You will need to upload digital copies of your supporting documents to the online form.

What happens next?

We will assess your complaint and if required, we may inspect your property. We will then provide you with an investigative report you can use should you choose to pursue the inspector in the courts or with Queensland Civil and Administrative Tribunal (QCAT)
